Feng Chia University Hosts National Workshop on Supporting Students Exposed to Domestic Violence, Building a Compassionate Network of Care

To enhance the ability of university counseling professionals to identify and support students who have witnessed domestic violence, the Central Taiwan University and College Counseling Coordination and Consultation Center commissioned the Counseling Center under the Office of Student Affairs at Feng Chia University to organize the 2026 Professional Development Workshop on Counseling Students Exposed to Domestic Violence on July 27. The event attracted nearly 120 counseling professionals from universities and colleges across northern, central, southern, and eastern Taiwan to discuss trauma-informed care, recovery support, and cross-system collaboration practices.

FCU Mentor Forum Focuses on Student Support and Campus Advising Practices

To enhance faculty advisors’ professional advising competencies and strengthen support for students’ diverse learning and campus life needs, the Office of Student Affairs at Feng Chia University (FCU) held the Faculty Advisor Forum for the Second Semester of Academic Year 2025–26 on June 22. The event brought together university executives, college and department administrators, and faculty advisors to explore key issues in higher education through discussions on interdisciplinary learning, special education, and student advising practices.

“Passing the Flame”: FCU Student Organization Inauguration and Leadership Handover Ceremony Marks a New Chapter of Student Leadership

Feng Chia University held its Academic Year 2025–26 Student Organization Inauguration and Leadership Handover Ceremony, themed“Passing the Flame,” on June 14. The event opened with faculty advisors and student committee leaders making creative entrances alongside the organizations they mentor. Vice President Kuo-Hao Tang encouraged all student leaders to embrace the ceremony’s theme, emphasizing that leadership transitions represent not only the transfer of responsibility, but also the passing on of experience, values, and passion. He expressed confidence that incoming leaders would build upon the achievements of their predecessors, continue to innovate, and guide their organizations toward new milestones while keeping the spirit of student organizations alive across generations.

TIEFF Director Talks at Feng Chia University Explore Indigenous Transitional Justice Through Film

The 13th Taiwan International Ethnographic Film Festival (TIEFF) 2026, themed Post/Industrial Myths, focused on cultural memory and social issues arising from industrial transformation and toured venues across Taiwan from April to June. At Feng Chia University, the event was jointly organized by the Center for Austronesian and Cultural Sustainability Studies, the Library, and the Indigenous Student Resource Center, featuring three film screenings on May 14, 19, and 25, followed by discussions with filmmakers and scholars.

Nearly 700 Participants Gather for the 2026 Feng Chia University Pickleball Championship

The popularity of pickleball continues to grow rapidly across Taiwan. Supported by the Ministry of Education’s Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Program, the Physical Education Center at Feng Chia University hosted the 2026 Feng Chia University Pickleball Championship from May 23 to 24 in the University Gymnasium. The two-day event attracted pickleball enthusiasts from across Taiwan, drawing nearly 700 participants in total and creating an energetic atmosphere that reflected the sport’s growing appeal and momentum.

Cross-Cultural Musical Afternoon Brings Comfort and Connection to the FCU Community

The Center for General Education and the Counseling and Psychological Services Center at Feng Chia University jointly hosted a special concert on May 6, featuring the Shu-Mi Mandolin Studio. The performance was led by Shu-Mi Huang, the first Taiwanese mandolinist to earn a master’s degree in mandolin performance from France, alongside guitarist Ming-Shan Hsu and vocalist Yi-Cheng Huang. The event was hosted by radio DJ NANA, creating a warm and engaging cross-cultural musical experience for faculty members and students.
